At ElevareAI Inc., operator of Canuck-Tax.ca, protecting your personal and financial information is a core priority. Because the Service handles sensitive information such as Social Insurance Numbers and financial details, we apply strong, industry-standard security measures. • Data at rest: all data, including sensitive tax information, is encrypted at rest using AES-256 encryption.
• Data in transit: all data transmitted between you and the Service is protected using TLS (Transport Layer Security).

2. Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA)

Multi-factor authentication using an authenticator app (TOTP) is required on all accounts. After entering your password, you must provide a time-based code from your authenticator app to sign in. This protects your account even if your password is ever compromised.

3. Data Residency

All personal and tax-related data is stored on secure servers located within Canada.

4. Access Controls

We use row-level security and access controls so that your data is only accessible to your own account. Internal access to user data is limited to what is necessary to operate and support the Service.

5. Payment Security

We do not store your full payment card details. All payment processing is handled by our PCI-compliant payment processor (Stripe).

6. Breach Notification

In the event of a confirmed security incident affecting your personal information, we will notify affected users and the appropriate authorities as required by applicable Canadian privacy law, and we will provide information about what occurred and the steps you can take.

7. Your Role in Security

Security is a shared responsibility. We encourage you to use a strong, unique password, keep your authenticator app secure, and never share your login credentials. Please report any suspected security concerns to us at the contact below.
